Elmer Meade age 81, of Kermit passed away at his home Friday, September 23, 2011. Born February 27, 1930 in Millstone, KY to the late Marcus and Lilly Pike Meade. He is also preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Meade and one sister, Ellanore Purdue. Elmer is survived by his wife, Shirlean Fitchpatrick Meade, three sons, Timothy Meade of Kahlotus, Washington, Malcolm Meade of Vandalia, Ohio and Dean Meade of Springfield, Ohio; two daughters, Lela Gibbons of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Tammy Vance of Kermit, West Virginia; two sisters, Geneva Longworth of Fairborne, Ohio and Myrena Combs of Tenn; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also survive.

 Services will be held 1PM Tuesday at the Neely Branch United Baptist Church at Marrowbone, WV, with burial to follow in the Newsome Ridge Cemetery. Russell Ball and Sonny Diamond will officiate. Friends may visit the church after 5PM Sunday, all day Monday and until time of service Tuesday. Arrangements are by the Phelps and Son Funeral Home of Inez.

Gary Lee Howard, age 70, of Debord KY., went home to be with the Lord on Friday Sept. 23, 2011 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashalnd, KY. As a master carpenter, Gary built the home that he and his wife of nearly fifty years, Cynthia, enjoyed at Debord. Now Gary is enjoying the home that Jesus has prepared if we serve Him.

 John 14: 1 – 3; Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also

Born November 7, 1940 to the late Hiram McClellan (Clell) and the late Eunice Harless Howard, Gary is also preceded in death by a sister, Lula Belle Sain. Gary married Cynthia Jude on December 6, 1961 after a courtship of three years. In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by his son, Warfield, KY postmaster Daniel L. (Dan) Howard, daughter in law Denise Howard, three grandsons Jeremy Lee, David Keith, and Ethan Joel Howard all of Kermit, W.V., two granddaughters, Taira Faith of Kermit, W.V., Brittany Dove of Pikeville, KY and grandson in law Justin M. Dove of Pikeville, KY. Gary is also survived by one brother, Earl Ray Howard and wife Jean of Reynoldsburg, OH , two special nieces, Debbie Houser of Vale, NC and Denise Agriesti of Reynoldsburg, OH; other survivors include Keither Jude and wife Rosetta of Beauty, KY and Howard Jude and wife Bonnie of Lexington, KY. Gary was a retired coal miner.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 at Freedom Freewill Baptist Church in Debord KY., where Gary helped build and was a Deacon. Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 at Phelps and Sons Funeral Home, Inez KY. The family will receive friends at 5:00pm until 10:00pm.

Margaret Ann Robinson Maynard, age 57 of Milo, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at her home. She is preceded in death by her father Richard Robinson; husband Larry Maynard and a daughter Tracy Maynard. Surviving: her mother, Elizabeth Williamson Riley of West Virginia;  two daughters, Kimberly and Kenna Maynard both of Martin County; two brothers, Frank Robinson of Ohio and Curtis Robinson of Maine; two sisters, Patricia Robinson of New York and Mildred Casto of West Virginia; one granddaughter Kelsey Maynard and one grandson Rory Prater; and several nieces and nephews..

A Grave Side service will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Webb Cemetery at Milo. There will be no public visitation.

Linda “Diane” Jude Garcia, age 49 formerly of Martin County, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Nashville. Born May 14, 1962 in Martin County, she was the daughter of Linda Preece and the late Elijah Jude. She is survived by her children, Melinda Bradley, Robert Maynard, Jr, Phelicia Messer and Chad Sparks; grandchildren, Skylar Hall, Ava Ratcliff, Sarah Maynard, Jakob Maynard, Alexander Maynard, Chyann Messer, Demitri Messer and Ryland Messer; sisters, Lisa Ross, Donna Maynard, Brenda Khatab, Tina Pollard and Alleena “Nikki” Jarrell.

Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home for a Memorial Service from 4-7PM Monday, September 26, 2011. Burial will follow at a later date. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.

Barbara Stacy 75, of Tomahawk, KY departed this life, September 27, 2011 at her home, to meet her Savior. Barbara was the daughter of the late Lige and Ella (Penix) Hall. She was preceded in death by one son, John Larry Williamson, 3 grandsons; Jason Blackburn, Ronnie and Donnie Mollett, one special son-in-law, Arkie Mollett. She was also a homemaker.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Wanda Williamson, Carol Sue (Carl) Preece of Tomahawk, KY, Jacqueline (Alvin) Blackburn of Louisa, KY and 4 sons; James Michael (Dedra) Williamson of Fallsburg, KY, Robert (Toni) Williamson, Lige (Karen) Stacy of Tomahawk, KY, and Jeff (Margie) Stacy of Louisa, KY. She is also survived by 4 sisters; Grathel Mollett of Mansfield, OH, Birdie (Pete) Mollett of Boonescamp, KY, Eula (Mike) Stevens of Tomahawk, KY, Callie Gaye Warren of Fallsburg, KY, and 5 brothers, Clina (Vada) Hall and Ernest Hall of Fallsburg, KY, Elijah (Sharon) Hall of Sandy Hook, KY, Roy Lee (Verla) Hall of Williamsport, KY, and Jay (Junie) Hall of Tomahawk, KY as well as 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Barbara will be sadly missed by many.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 1:00pm at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez Chapel with Isaac Rowland and Tim McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Penix-Hall Cemetery of Trace Fork Road, Tomahawk, KY. Visitation will be after 6pm Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, KY.

Antha (Ann) Harmon, 72 of Warfield, KY went home to be with the Lord on September 27, 2011 after a lingering illness. She was born on December 9, 1938 in Hode, KY; she was a daughter of the late Allen and Hazel Maynard Harmon.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise (Tom) Chaffins, Robert (Betty) Dillon, Ray Edward (Audrey) Dillon all of Warfield, KY. Two stepson, Jerry Daniels of Hazard, KY and Scott Daniels of Paintsville, KY.

Grandchildren include: Christal Shumway of Lexington, KY, Chad Dillon of Dingess, WV, Anna Stroud of Breeden, WV, Robert Jr. Dillon of Grassy, KY and 8 Great-grandchildren, Bryce Shumway, Olivia, Claire, and Wade Dillon, Brandon and Courtney Stroud, Erica and Lucas Dillon.

She is also survived by 3 brothers; Allen Harmon Jr. and Elias Harmon of Columbus, OH, Burns Harmon of Warfield, KY and two sisters, Emma Jo Bowen of Warfield, KY and Tennie Vance of Grethel, KY. Antha is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and several very special friends.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Before her illness she faithfully attended the Big Elk Freewill Baptist Church. Even though her passing was expected, it has still left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will sadly be missed by all.

Funeral services will on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 1:00pm at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield Chapel with Clyde Waller officiating. Burial will follow in the Chaffin-Harmon Cemetery of Hode, KY. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home.
