Barbara L. Stamper, age 60 of Lackey, Kentucky passed away Thursday August 24, 2017 at Golden Years Rest Home in Lackey. Born October 17, 1956 in Dawson, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Jack R. Stamper and Margie Odom Stamper. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by three sisters: Carol R. Koren, Exie Lee Stanley and Etta Faye Stamper. She is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Osborne, and husband Kelly of Van Lear; one son, William R. Smith, and wife Tiffany of Texas; one brother, Jack Stamper of West Liberty; one sister, Linda Waryk, and husband, Tim of Buffalo, New York; and three grandchildren also survive. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday with a funeral service at 7:00pm. Steve Rose will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date. Betty W. Spradlin, age 83 of Prestonsburg, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg. Born December 25, 1933 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Rolla Wagner and Jean Marshall Wagner. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers: James Wagner and Bill Wagner; two sisters: Jerry Burke and Marge Webb. She is survived by one son: James Spradlin of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; two daughters: Jennie Ekleberry of Churchill, Tennessee and Paula Ferrell of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; two brothers: Paul Wagner of Ravenna, Ohio and Doug Wagner of Lockport, New York. Rose Messer Dingess Aldridge 80, of Wayne, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2017, at her home. She was born in Stonecoal, West Virginia on December 8, 1936, to the late Jesse and Nora Dillon Messer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willis Aldridge, one grandson, Roger Dingess Jr., three great-grandchildren, Delanie Rose Brewer, Emily Rose and Ben Dingess, two brothers and one sister. Rose is survived by five son, Jesse Dingess of Genoa, West Virginia, Albert (Sharon) Dingess of Lovely, Kentucky, John (Carol) Dingess of Crum, West Virginia, James Dingess and Roger Dingess both of Wayne, West Virginia, two daughters, Linda (Jimmy) Little of Wayne, West Virginia and Nora Johnson of Van, West Virginia, along with 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Jimmy Messer. Rose was a christian for over 60 years. Funeral services will be held at the Golden Springs Freewill Baptist in Kermit, West Virginia on Monday, August 14, 2017, at 1:00 pm with Ray Patrick officiating. Timothy Dale Preece

Timothy Dale Preece age 52, of Kermit, West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Marrowbone Creek, West Virginia. Born on February 7, 1965, in Williamson, West Virginia to the late Wilburn Thomas and Mary Virginia Castle Preece. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by brothers, William, James and Steven Preece and nephew, Jason Kominar. Tim was a graduate of Kermit High School, a former employee of Lee Sartin Trucking and a 40 year member of the Kermit Volunteer Fire Department, serving as Assistant Fire Chief at the time of his death. He also was a Certified Master Diver, having participated in numerous search and rescue missions. Left to mourn his passing are his daughters, Chanda Grace and her husband, Dwayne Grace and son, Logan Chance (Kelsey) Preece. Additional survivors include; brothers, Tommy (Jan), Donnie (Angie) and Reco (Robin) Preece, sisters, Mary Ann (Steve) Kominar, Emma (Ronnie) Muncy, Linda Gail (Riley) Sartin, Brenda Preece, Debbie (David) Dodd, Robin (Doug) Collins, Michelle Preece and Stella (J.R.) Hinkle. A proud Papaw, to Caitlin, Carissa, Cassidy and Chance Grace and was excited for the arrival of Baby Boy Preece in December 2017.
