George “Orsin” Damron, age 86 of Ashville, Ohio, formerly of Martin County, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Emeitus at Lakeview, Groveport. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. Preceded in death by his wife, Wilda Marcum Damron; parents, Levi and Jose (Hobbs) Damron of Beauty; sisters, Ethel White. Phyllis Lakes, and Gladys Madron; brothers, Levi, Jr. and Alonzo Damron. George is survived by brothers, Dallas (Deanna) Damron and Robert Damron of Ashville, Ohio, Lynn Dale (Betty) Damron of Versailles, KY; sisters, Shirley (Tom) McClain of Ashville, Ohio and Edith (Dave) Thompson of Florida. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, neighbors and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be 10am Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Marcum Cemetery at Stone Coal. Friends may visit the Oliver – Cheek Funeral Home in Ashville, Ohio from 4-8pm Sunday and from 5-8pm Monday at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.
