Necessity may be the mother of invention but a shaky economy may be the father. Fast food chains are putting on their thinking caps, or maybe their beer goggles, to find new ways to combat evening competition from casual dining establishments. After a few cocktails they’ve come up with a solution – serving alcoholic beverages. Burger King® as well as Starbucks® have been or will be serving beer and wine. Sonic® is also getting into the mix for customers dining on their patios.
So what does this mean for the consumer? Cheap beers with tater tot chasers? Very soon we may be super sizing a BudLight® versus the customary soda.
What’s your opinion on alcoholic beverages being served in fast food establishments?
I’m not a fan of most alcoholic beverages but sounds like a good business idea to me.
A good idea, but I hope they added bourbon or scotch to their menus…you know, class the place up a bit…
