Harvey Blackburn 53 of 4680 North Milo Road, Inez, Ky; passed away suddenly on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, KY. He was born on January 2, 1958 in Martin County, KY; he was a son of the late Harvey and Barbara Mollett Blackburn. He was preceded in death by a son Carlos Richard Blackburn. He worked in Sand and Gravel business and was of the Baptist Faith.
Harvey is survived by his wife; Brenda Blackburn of Milo, KY, as well as a son, William Harvey Blackburn of Columbus, OH, step-children, Conjinia Maynard of Louisa, KY, Randy Joe Fannin of Inez, KY, Marlena Jo Fannin of Inez, KY, Kenny James of Ohio, and Marlina Mullins of Inez, KY. He is also survived by granddaughter, Madison Blackburn as several step grandchildren as well as brothers, Edmond and Glen Hall of Inez, KY and sister, Carol Osborne of Louisa, KY.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2pm at the Vineyard United Baptist church with Doc Maynard and Dave Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery of Coldwater Road, Inez, KY. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Monday at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez Chapel and after 2pm Tuesday and until time of services on Wednesday at the Church. James Wade Copley 74, of 157 Brandons Place Road, Inez, KY; passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, KY. He was born on Feb. 21, 1937 in Martin County, KY; he was a son of the late Jacob Wade and Ester Johnson Copley. He was a US Army Veteran and had been employed for Big Sandy Cap as a Master Electrician for 22 years. He was preceded in death by his siblings; Jackson Copley, Thomas Copley, Randolph Copley, and Anna Mae Copley.
James is survived by his wife; Lois Mills Copley of Inez, KY as well as daughters, Carolyn (Daniel) Diaz of Palm Dale, California and Martha Ester Copley and her fiancé Kevin Ousley of Pikeville, KY. He is also survived by a brother, John Copley of North Carolina and sister, Nancy Copley Crum of Inez, KY.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 1:00pm at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez Chapel with Rick Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery of Inez, KY with military rights conducted by the DAV Chapter 141 of Belfry, KY. Visitation will be after 6pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Mac Arthur Jude, age 69 of Pilgrim, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at his home. Born March 15, 1942 in Martin County, he was the son of the late Dave and Ethel Jude. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Carl (Lorraine) Jude; and a sister, Virginia Edith (Johnny) Justice. He is survived by five sisters, Edna (Oscar) Harmon of Ft. Pierce, FL, Glendean Kirk and Juanita (Don) Fannin both of Milo, Betty Jo (Willis) Moore of Pilgrim and Lucille (Norvin) Cline of Inez; two brothers, John (Sue) Jude of Beauty and Gary (Sheila) Jude of Pilgrim.
Funeral services will be 11AM Friday, September 2, 2011 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Jude Family Cemetery at Pilgrim. Glem Penix will officiate. Florence Gauze Hale, 87 of Pilgrim, passed away Wednesday, August 24,2011 at Three Rivers Medical Center. Born March 16,1924 to the late Rowland and Zelphie Preece Gauze. Preceding her in death, husband Earnest Hale; two sons, Sherman and Ruvil Hale; two daughters, Connie and Lou Hale; one daughter-in-law, Bernice Hale; four brothers, Jimmy, Sherman, Orville and Lucian Gauze; and one sister, Flora Moore. Surviving are two sons, Earnest Hale Jr and Eddie Hale both of Pilgrim; five daughters Edith (Robert) Collins of Tennessee, Betty (Joseph) Birmingham of Texas, Janice (Clayborne) Hayes of Louisa, Ky , Elvie (Steven) Smith of Ohio and Linda (Phillip) Muncy of Pilgrim; one brother, Vadis Gauze of Tomahawk, Ky; three sisters, Rubby Pigg of Ashland, KY, Minerva Jones of Georgia and Mildred Howard of Michigan; eighteen grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Florence became a member of the Buck Branch United Baptist Church October 6, 1968.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday August 27,2011 in the chapel of Phelps & Son Funeral Home with the United Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Hale Family Cemetery, Pilgrim. Visitation will be after 5 PM Thursday, all day Friday until time of services on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Otis (Odie) Bowen, age 49 of Inez, passed away Monday, August 22, 2011 at Three Rivers in Louisa. Born February 21, 1962 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Nebert and Laura Muncy Bowen. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lisa Taylor Bowen; one daughter, Manica Nicole Bowen of Inez; one step daughter, Sara Ashley Stafford of Richmond, KY; five brothers, Kenneth Ray (Barbara) Bowen of Lawton, OK, Curtis (Diane) Bowen of Inez, Bruce (Norene) Bowen also of Inez, Arthur Bowen of Noblesville, IN and Stanley (Betty) Bowen of Inez; one sister Sharon Kay Fitch of River. Odie is preceded in death by a niece and nephew, Jena Kay Bowen and Michael Dwayne Bowen.
Funeral services will be 1:00PM Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Vineyard United Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Bowen Family Cemetery at Tomahawk. David Mullins, age 47 of Butler, KY formerly of Inez, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011. Born November 26, 1963 in Martin County, he was the son of the late Junior Mullins and Alleene Jude Crum. He is survived by one son, Andrew Mullins of Inez; two brothers, Donovan Mullins of Inez and Steven Mullins of Chillicothe, Ohio; one sister, Gamble Goble of Debord; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be 1:00PM Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the chapel of the Inez Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Jobe Blackburn Cemetery on Pigeon Roost.
