Lucia Young, age 95 of Inez, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at her home. Born June 16, 1918 in Inez, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Vina Smith James. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Young {August 13, 1993}; two brothers, Lacy and Edgel James; and one sister, Ethel Delong. She is survived by five sons, Darriel and Lillie Young of Inez, Kenneth and Janet Young of Inez, Don and Phyllis Young of Inez, Bruce and Norma Young of Inez and Larry Young of Grove City, Ohio; grandchildren, Shelly (Stephen) Metz, Chrissy (Jeremy), Chandler, Brandon (Arika), Neal (Lana Jo), Ryan (Christy), Mandy, and Shane Young; and great grandchildren, Karalei and Zoe Metz, Ella Chandler, Wesley, Savannah, Tanner, Kayleigh, Lawson, Jagger, and Rhett Young, Victoria and Braxton Jude.
Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, October 19, 2013 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Young Family Cemetery on Coldwater Road, Inez. Claude Mollette, Walker Fields, and Gene Burnette will officiate. Friends may visit the funeral home from 5-10pm Thursday and from 9am to 10pm with church service starting at 7pm on Friday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.
